Hot New Hip Hop reported on a deleted tweet from Big Sean in which he talked about how his record label had tried to convince him not to release the track, “Deep Reverence,” featuring Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed outside of his LA store in March 2018.

As it was previously reported, Big Sean unveiled his latest track with Hussle yesterday and it received critical acclaim by fans, who praised the single and Nipsey Hussle’s performance on it. Sadly, many fans of Hussle pointed out to the quality of his verse, and how they would no longer hear his voice again.

According to Big Sean – who announced he was going to drop a full-length project on the 4th of September – he felt a burning desire in his heart to release the track, even though not everyone thought it was a good idea.

According to the rapper’s tweet, there were some people over at G.O.O.D Music who believed releasing the song wasn’t a great idea. He stated there were particular individuals at his label who believed it “wasn’t smart” to drop the song before the album came out.

He said he had disagreed with them fundamentally, but they ultimately supported his decision to drop it first before the actual record came out. The rapper explained how he thought that the world needed to hear the song, including its energy, Nip’s verse, and the theme of the entire single.
