A woman accused of plotting to poison her ex-boyfriend with a fatal dose of a party drug has been cleared of all wrongdoing.

Claire Dawson was due to appear in Sydney Downing Centre District Court on Thursday to prepare to fight the charge of conspiracy to administer a poison with intent to injure.

She had pleaded not guilty to the charge in April last year, more than two years after she was arrested.

Police previously alleged Ms Dawson had planned to poison her ex partner Raimondo Corak-Phan in December 2019 in a joint conspiracy with her friend Marissa Tofield.

A phone tap allegedly captured a number of phone calls in which the women plotted to administer a deadly dose of GHB to Mr Corak-Phan, the court previously heard.

Police allegedly found 15ml of the party drug in Tofield’s apartment in Sydney’s inner west during a raid.

She was sentenced to a one-year community corrections order in October 2021 after the judge heard she was motivated by a desire to protect Ms Dawson from her abusive ex.

Tofield has completed her sentence but Ms Dawson has been waiting to clear her name for nearly three years.

On Thursday, the Crown prosecutor confirmed the charge against the 31-year-old had been withdrawn.

Ms Dawson did not appear in court.
