UFC 135-pounder Said Nurmagomedov is not related to former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. As per a reports, Khabib Nurmagomedov confirmed in a 2018 interview with RT Sport that the duo is not related.
Said Nurmagomedov's current UFC record stands at 6-2. It includes a four-fight win streak that saw him overcome the likes of Cody Stamann, Douglas Silva De Andrade and Sidyokub Kakhramonov.
However, 'The Eagle' has two of his cousins competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The older cousin, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, fights in the welterweight division. He is also a former three-time combat sambo world champion. The 26-year-old Umar Nurmagomedov, on the other hand, is a bantamweight.
Apart from his UFC athlete cousins, the former lightweight champion also has two siblings. He has an older brother, Magomed Nurmagomedov, and a younger sister, Amina.
Although Magomed Nurmagomedov was a wrestler in Dagestan, he has never competed in any major fight promotions. Magomed was featured in one of the episodes of The Dagestan Chronicles.

Said Nurmagomedov returns to the Octagon at UFC 294
Said Nurmagomedov is a promising bantamweight that is trying to break into the uper echelons of the division. During his tenure with the UFC, Nurmagomedov has suffered two losses. The first loss came against Raoni Barcelos all the way back in 2019.
While he had rebuilt the momentum over the last couple of years with a four-fight winning streak, Said Nurmagomedov suffered another setback against Jonathan Martinez in his outing in March 2023.
Nurmagomedov will attempt to get back in the win column with a potential win over Muin Gafurov at UFC 294. Gafurov made his UFC debut against John Castaneda on a Fight Night card in June 2023, losing the fight via unanimous decision. It is a must-win fight for both men to advance in their UFC careers.
The event will take place on October 21, 2023, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It will be headlined by the lightweight title fight rematch between champion Islam Makhachev and featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski.
A middleweight clash between former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and rising contender Khamzat Chimaev will be the co-headliner of this event.
The event features several fighters from the Middle East and Caucasian region and presents an excellent opportunity for rising contenders like Said Nurmagomedov to show their talent to a wider audience.
